THE ROLE

Social Media & Digital Marketing Manager
Term: 1 Month Trial Period
Location: Southern California (Remote)

The focus of the Social Media & Digital Marketing Manager is to manage the digital strategy and identity of Desert Hearts – Top-rated boutique festival, artist collective, music community, and record label. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in digital marketing and/or social media management and strategy, with a passion for music, strong communication skills, and the ability to adjust to a fast-paced working environment. They must be a team player, responsive and goal-driven, a multi-tasker who’s able to adapt to quickly changing priorities.

The Social Media & Digital Marketing Manager will be responsible for representing Desert Hearts in a number of internal and external communications and must conduct themselves professionally while on the job. Developing and executing efficient communication systems will be the mark of an exceptional team member.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build and own the digital & social media strategies to deliver against marketing priorities, including, but not limited to, brand awareness, audience acquisition, community engagement, social media growth, and demand generation

  • Manage and execute high-frequency posting schedules on Desert Hearts’ social media channels, including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, YouTube, MailChimp, Bandsintown, Songkick

  • Work closely within the organization to ensure cross-functional alignment on marketing goals and target outcomes

  • Work beyond the organization with promoters to develop effective localized digital marketing strategies to reach target outcomes

  • Build and implement paid ad strategies that yield brand recognition, growth, sales, and community engagement

  • Direct real-time media coordination, collection, and distribution at live events

  • Data management; labeling videos/photos and sorting/uploading to dropbox folders

  • Keep calendars up to date (public/internal)

  • Manage community/customer relationships

  • Help execute on-site activations including Helping Hearts charity events

  • Establish and maintain relationships with photographers, videographers, and creators that make creative content

  • Monitor social trends and track channel analytics

  • Provide social media support at events as needed

  • All other social-related duties as requested

  • Echo the sonic vibration of House, Techno, & Love

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years working in Digital Marketing and/or Social Media Management

  • Excellent knowledge and hands-on experience with digital & social media marketing

  • Strong knowledge of social media trends and the ability to activate on trends at the drop of a hat

  • Excellent copywriting and asset/photo selection

  • Attention to detail, organization, efficiency, and prioritization skills are a must, as are creativity and quick problem-solving

  • Knowledge of Desert Hearts and the larger music industry, live events, and festival landscape into which it fits 

  • Proficient in Photoshop and/or other graphic design studios 

  • Proficient in Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, and/or other video editing software

  • Proficient in data organization (google sheets, docs, dropbox,etc.) 

  • Excellent time-management, organization, communication, and presenting skills

  • Must be motivated with an “everything is possible” attitude

  • Must be an active problem solver, with a sense of urgency for projects large and small

  • Must be over 21 years of age and eligible for employment in the United States

  • Must have laptop and a reliable mode of transportation

  • Must be willing to travel to events 

  • Must be willing to work nights and weekends in loud environments 

  • Must be willing to do what it takes to get the job done and meet deadlines
