Over the past six years, Desert Hearts has found itself at the center of a dusty movement, fostering intimate experiences of sonic joy and unbounded love across the globe. Location: San Diego, CA Los Angeles, CA, Denver, CO - Remote
The focus of the DH Intern Roles will support the following departments: management, marketing, logistics, label, and festival operations. The ideal candidates should have a passion for music, communication skills, and the ability to adjust to a fast-paced working environment. They will be a team player, responsive and goal-driven, a multi-tasker able to adapt to quickly changing priorities.
The interns will gain experience and insight into all areas of the music industry through this internship opportunity. They will be responsible for representing Desert Hearts in a number of day-to-day interaction tasks that will represent Desert Hearts and must conduct themselves professionally while on the job. Developing and executing efficient communication systems for the team will be the mark of an exceptional team member.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Proficient in Photoshop, After Effects, and Adobe Premiere or Final Cut
Proficient in data organization (google sheets, docs, dropbox,etc.)
Data/content management; labeling videos/photos and sorting/uploading to dropbox folders
Keeping calendars up to date (public/internal)
Build and Maintain social media/community and promoter reps
Research various community promotional methods
Execute various show marketing activations
Assist with marketing activations
Community outreach
Assist with on-site production & operations at Desert Hearts Branded shows
Assist social media specialists with customer service -- monitoring and responding to fan messages, comments, etc. -- across all brands and platforms
Provide support to social media specialists during announcements + on sales
Construct social media schedules for high-frequency concert postings including basic copywriting and asset/photo selection
Execute smaller level posting and shares for departments and brands including but not limited to: Desert Hearts Records, Desert Hearts Touring Events, Desert Hearts Shop.
Build and develop a directory of freelancers + artists that could make creative content
Monitor social trends and track channel analytics during major announcements
Create content that can be implemented during social media campaigns
Project-manage various other short-term assignments, as requested
Provide support at events on-site as needed
All other social-related duties as requested
Research flight pricing and hotels for shows
Create templates for show advances
Enter flight info into back end travel manager
Track all purchases in a google sheet
QUALIFICATIONS
Team player
A laptop and a reliable mode of transportation are necessary
Attention to detail, organization, efficiency, and prioritization skills are a must, as are creativity and quick problem-solving
Knowledge of Desert Hearts – and the larger music, events, and festival landscape into which it fits – is a big plus
Excellent time-management, organization, communication and presenting skills
Must be motivated with an “everything is possible” attitude
Must be an active problem solver, instilled with a sense of urgency for projects large and small
Must be over twenty-one years of age (all of our events are 21+) and eligible for employment in the US
SCHOOL CREDIT
The intern’s ability to receive school credit is not mandatory, although we can provide a letter of referral to fulfill college credit upon request. If you are to receive credit hours from your school and/or university for this internship, please obtain the appropriate university (departmental) internship authorization forms and instructions for completion.
